NHS payout for bedsores

Figures from NHS Resolution have revealed that the NHS paid out £10.3m last year in compensation claims bought by clients who have suffered bedsores whilst in hospital. An additional £10.5m was spent on legal fees. The average claim was £37,000 and ten cases involved patients who had to have a limb amputated.
