The Health and Safety Executive report on Workplace Fatal Injuries in Great Britain 2019
The Health and Safety Executive have published their report on Workplace Fatal Injuries in Great Britain for 2019. The report shows that although fatal injuries in the workplace are a rare event, 147 workers lost their lives in 2018/19. Over a period of five years to this date, the annual average number of deaths was 142.
The main industries where fatalities occur are: construction, agriculture, forestry and fishing. Falls from a height, being struck by a moving vehicle and being struck by falling, flying or moving objects are the main cause of fatal injuries over the last five years.
