The NHS pay out £100 million in compensation in 24 hours

An article in The Times today, reports that the NHS paid out more than £100 million in compensation to disabled children in a 24 hour period. This is owing to the fact that 11 cases were heard last week and reflect an increase in the awards being paid to victims. These pay outs are two to three times more than they used to be and a result of the government’s decision to change the way that awards are calculated. The full story can be read on The Times’ website.
