Bristol University faces legal action over death of student

A student at Bristol University who suffered severe social anxiety, committed suicide ahead of an oral presentation she was due to give to fellow students.

Her parents are now taking legal action against the university as they believe that they failed to provide adequate support.

An inquest into her death has ruled that she died partly to the neglect of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust which ‘significantly underestimated’ her condition.
