Concerns over battery-powered scooters on British roads

The government have announced that they will hold a consultation on the introduction of battery-powered scooters on British roads. This announcement has been met with concerns from safety campaigners, cycling charities and head injury specialists who believe that this will make riders vulnerable to accidents.

The suggestion that they be kept separate from traffic, ideally in cycle lanes and also an investment in providing protected paths has been offered as a suitable option.
